Corin Mackenzie

RTC-C/ Owner

Welcome!

My name is Corin Mackenzie and I am a registered counselling therapist candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I have a BArts degree from St. Mary's University (2008), Early Childhood Education Diploma (2018), and a MArts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University (2024).

Are you tired of always feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed? Having trouble to find the motivation in our uncertain world? Do your reactions seem big and overreactive? Is the present affected by the past? I am here to help through a non judgmental and supportive lens offering you the chance to grow and reconnect with yourself. Through our work I aim to help you gain emotional regulation, motivation and, cognitive change in negative thought patterns.

I employ an approach that is tailored to the individual and that can stem in multiple therapy approaches. These approaches are founded in Cognitive Behavioral ideology with person-centered approach. Some of the main therapies I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I believe that the client is the authority on their own story and so I aim to work collaboratively with clients to find the best way forward. I aim to meet the client where they are in the stages of change and aim to support them in a safe space free from judgement. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and general difficulties in life that require support in a safe therapeutic setting.

If this sounds like a good fit I look forward to working with you!
